Deservation

can't you see?
everything that
you do for me?

you know you're my mirror
my brightly shining star,
my Light in the dark

more Love than i ever knew
existed, just in you.

more beauty than i ever guessed;

the star says, "no, i'm not
good enough for you."
yet in us and ourselves,
His Love and grace are imbued.

and then she says, "you
deserve more than i."
yet where is the cue
to demand what is "mine?"

yet if i lose you
where do i go?
what am i to find
but another to show?

a new star, a new Light,
but still will you be
in my prayers at night
and my heart flying free.

angel, it could happen,
but what can i do
but put my trust in Him
and put my arms around you?

i can see in the world
there is better than me.
purer of heart,
and quicker to see.

and the choice is yours,
and so you can tell.
just listen to your heart,
for it chooses well.

you're all that i see,
you're all that i know.
i Love you so much,
angel, please don't go.

though there may be better
and more commonly sought,
both of us know that
Love can't be bought.

as i travel the world
and experience new things,
one thing will stay true;
with you in my heart i will sing.

for the joy that you give me
is second to One,
as He knows best.
